About us

We are an Anglo/Swiss family sharing a passion for Golden Retrievers.

Catherine grew up in London enjoying her early years with Irish Setters, a Miniature Dachsund and a German Shepherd.  In 1970 her first Golden Retriever Sebastian of Eidrah “Bass”, bred by her aunt Mrs. Margaret Hardie, arrived in her life.  Bass was sired by the lovely dual purpose Champion Crouchers Leo (bred by Mrs. E. Melville) and his dam was a delightful Ch. Camrose Tallyrand of Anbria daughter.  Bass was a truly dual purpose Golden Retriever in all respects possessing the correct biddable temperament of the breed and winning in the showring, competitive obedience, fields trials and working tests.  He proved to be “a dog in a million” and set the standard we continually try to achieve with our dogs.

Since 1983, Catherine has judged Golden Retrievers at championship level on many occasions throughout Europe, including Russia, Australia, Canada, India and New Zealand.

Swen successfully bred Golden Retrievers in Switzerland since 1981 under the affix “Funnyline” (mainly influenced by Jean and Raymond Burnett’s Rossbourne kennel) before moving to the U.K. in 1989.

In 2004 we moved to the Burgundy region of France where we continue to enjoy life surrounded by Golden Retrievers and maintain our interest in the breed.
